Women’s Weekend Retreat
This retreat weekend is for women of all ages seeking a personal relationship with Jesus through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
The “Walking in Victory” retreat will include talks about the Father’s intimate love for each person, and the opportunity to seek the healing Jesus has for all, and to learn about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and experience His empowerment. The retreat will include talks and personal testimony, small group discussion, times of praise and worship, and opportunities for silence and Eucharistic adoration, the sacraments, and prayer focused on stirring into flame the gifts of the Spirit.
Please note: due to the discussion and praise and worship music, this is not like a silent retreat typically held at OLGC Retreat House.
Sister Magdalena Casas-Nava, Mother Stella Maris Hamann, and Sister Francesca Ramsaroop of the Disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ will be presenting the retreat and leading worship. The DLJC Sisters, through a deep life of prayer, praise and on-going conversion in loving commitment to one another, seek to draw all people into a personal relationship with Jesus through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
Mother Stella Maris, DLJC invites women all ages to come on retreat and share in Jesus victory, saying, “Through trial, persecution and death Jesus rose from the dead. We also may have our daily trials, persecutions and death. Do we believe that we also can rise and have life?”
Sister Francesca Ramsaroop invites retreatants to experience the loving mercy of God, saying, “Love begets love my dear friends. As He has so loved us and poured Himself out for us, so we come to know this love, this mercy as the deep indwelling source of our goodness. This experience of mercy gives birth to a love in the deepest parts of our heart and soul: a longing for perpetual union with God.”
Sponsored by the Magnificat Morning Star Chapter, celebrating their 30th Anniversary in the Diocese of Lincoln. Rooted in the heart of Catholic charismatic renewal, Magnificat is an association that desires to renew women’s’ relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their openness to the Holy Spirit and His supernatural gifts. Women do not need to belong to Magnificat to attend the retreat.
