The Precious Value of Marriage and Family

Valentine’s Day Catholic Date Night – Sunday Feb. 15

We are thrilled to offer an evening for married couples to gather over a nice meal with great company, and to consider how absolutely essential their vocation is to the home, the church, and the world. This is an opportunity for any couple that would like to spend an evening with other like-minded families who are striving for joyful holiness in the domestic church. (Couples do not need to be part of MHSF to join the gathering.)

Optional Mass at 4:30pm
Formal Dinner at 5:15pm
Presentation at 6pm by Fr. Robert Matya

Optional Discussion time
Everything wrapped up by 7:30pm
$60 per couple includes: Roast beef or salmon, rosemary potatoes, green bean almondine, salad, red velvet cheese cake, bread, wine
Babysitting and kids food available in Library beginning at 5pm
Babysitting will be provided in the Retreat House library for $5 per child, including games and a movie.
Kids meals for $7 each include: macaroni and cheese, chicken strips, fruit, brownie

Fr. Robert Matya
Fr. Robert Matya attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was ordained to the priesthood in May 1995 for the Diocese of Lincoln. He served as an assistant pastor and high school teacher at both St. Cecilia’s Parish in Hastings, NE and Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, NE before coming to the UNL Newman Center in 1998.  Father Matya served as campus ministry chaplain at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Vocation Director for the Diocese of Lincoln and chaplain to the Serra Club of Lincoln.
