Healing of Memories
God desires that all our wounds be healed
3-Day Weekend Silent Retreat for Men or Women
Healing of Memories
- Did you know that we need not have any negative emotion coming out of our past experiences including anger, shame, depression or anxiety among others?
- Did you know that we can be freed from lies of paralyzing fear, desolate hopelessness or crippling shame that block us from addressing and healing wounds?
- Did you know that we need not have bodily (somatic) complaints tied to the past or overly vivid negative memories.
- These are all signs that a part of us is stuck in the past and is signaling us, like pain always tries to do, that something is wrong and is in need of healing.
- Did you know that God desires that all of our wounds be healed and that many wounds can be healed in just a matter of minutes?
- Would you like to learn a way to be free this pain from the past so as to live more fully in the present?
If so, then you are most welcome to attend a healing retreat led by Ian Butler (MA Counsleing; MTS: Theological Studies). He brings 25 years of clinical experience along with 19 years of human formation experience (seminary, religious and diaconate formation) into this retreat and will start you on the goal of being completely freed from all past wounds, hopefully within the next one to two months. You will be equipped from the first lecture with practical concepts and tools to be well underway toward this goal before the retreat is over.
* Please note, this retreat is not suitable for someone with known, unaddressed Traumatic wounds. It is recommended you contact CSS in Lincoln to ask for counseling from an EMDR trained therapist or check with www.EMDR.com for a local therapist.
All retreat participants will also receive a copy of Ian’s ebook (22 pages) and a worksheet on the topic.
Retreat starts Friday with rosary and Mass at 7:00pm, ends Sunday with Mass and Noon lunch.
In-person at the Retreat House, the retreats include meditations by the retreat master, the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation, extended opportunities for silence and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and other devotions.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House offers a sanctuary of prayer and recollection on a spacious acreage near Waverly. There are 50 single rooms, each with a private bath. A few double rooms are available upon request.
We want our retreats to be accessible to everyone, please consider an additional donation, or contact the Retreat House to inquire about financial assistance or if your parish pays part of the cost. If the retreat you’re interested in is full, contact us to be put on a waiting list. Airport transportation to/from LNK or OMA is also available upon request.
